PEROLO MEGA SUPERVENTIX SRV 2.5″ BSP DN65, 2.0 bar / 0.21 bar Vacuum

The MEGA SUPERVENTIX SRV 2.5″ BSP ISO Tank safety relief valve is a Pressure and Vacuum Safety Relief Valve made by PEROLO in France. It is available as MX65F (standard) and MP65F (PED) to protect tanks from overpressure and excessive vacuum.

The valve has a 2½ inch (DN65) bore and connects to the tank with a 2½” BSP thread, with relief settings of:

• Pressure Setting: 200 kPa or 2.00 Bar
• Vacuum Setting: 21 kPa or 0.21 Bar

When tank pressure reaches 2.00 Bar, the valve opens automatically to release gas or vapour. In the other direction, when negative pressure reaches 0.21 Bar, the Vacuum Relief opens to let air into the tank and balance it, reducing the risk of the tank deforming or collapsing.

MEGA SUPERVENTIX is compact but delivers high flow performance, suited to ISO Tank Containers, Road Tankers, Rail Tanks, IBCs and static pressure tanks.

Overpressure relief

The internal spring set holds the Pressure Plate closed. When tank pressure reaches the Set Pressure, it overcomes the spring force and the valve plate lifts to open the relief path. The spring then pushes the plate closed again when pressure balances.

If pressure rises quickly, the Pressure Plate can travel about 23 mm to increase the relief area and handle high flow.

Vacuum protection

When tank pressure drops to 0.21 Bar, the Vacuum Poppet opens to let air into the tank, balancing the pressure inside and outside. When pressure returns to normal, the Vacuum Poppet closes again automatically.

2.00 Bar is within the MEGA SUPERVENTIX pressure setting range, but the standard Spring Sets in the Maintenance document come in 4 values: 2.18 / 3.30 / 3.75 / 4.40 Bar. The 2.00 Bar value is an Other on Request setting on the Codification page.

So before listing or quoting, always check the Nameplate on the valve, Full Part Number, Serial Number, Certificate and Pressure Test Report. Do not automatically substitute a 2.18 Bar Spring Set for the 2.00 Bar model, because the relief settings are not the same.

The Full Part Number also depends on other options such as Setting Seal, Flame Proof Gauze, Setting Gasket type, Vacuum Test Button and Halar Coating, so do not derive the code from the Pressure and Vacuum values alone.

MEGA SUPERVENTIX is designed to comply with ADR, IMDG, RID and ISO 4126-1 §7.3, with Design Approval from DNV and RMR.

Model MP65F is certified to PED 2014/68/EU (Category IV, Module H1, Fluid Group 1, Notified Body: DNV) and covers Set Pressures up to 4.4 Bar, so 2.00 Bar is within range. Confirm that the actual product is an MP65F with a Certificate matching the Serial Number.

Suited to ISO Tank Containers, Road Tankers, Rail Tank Cars, IBCs and Static Pressure Tanks, including tanks carrying liquid chemicals and liquid food products that need protection from both overpressure and negative pressure.

Before use, check that the Set Pressure matches the tank MAWP and that the valve, seal and product carried are compatible.

1. Check that the Pressure and Vacuum Settings on the Nameplate suit the tank MAWP.
2. Check Material Compatibility with the product carried.
3. Install where gas or liquid from the valve will not spray towards operators.
4. Remove the temporary Protective Cap and Gauze before assembly.
5. Clean the thread, flange and Setting Gasket.
6. Screw the valve in by hand with the gasket, then tighten with a C-Spanner to the Torque for the gasket material.
7. Check the Wire Weld Seal and test for leaks after fitting.

For the 2.00 Bar Pressure Spring, confirm the Part Number with PEROLO or from the valve Certificate, as it is not in the standard Spring Set list.

The manufacturer recommends removing the valve for inspection in a Workshop about every 2 years, by specialists with a Test Rig for Safety Relief Valves only.

After replacing seals or the Spring Set, test the opening point at 2.00 Bar and Vacuum opening at 0.21 Bar with a Class 0.5 Manometer, then seal the Cap with Stainless Steel Wire. Only PEROLO parts should be used.

• Make sure the tank is not under pressure before removing the valve.
• Do not remove the Cover while the Spring Set is still loaded. The Spring Load is between 100 and 400 daN and can fly out violently.
• Do not adjust the Set Pressure without a Test Rig, and do not remove the Wire Weld Seal before the inspection interval.
• Do not use a 2.18 Bar Spring Set in place of 2.00 Bar without certification.
• Do not block the relief outlet, and check that the Flame Proof Gauze is not clogged.
• Check Chemical Compatibility and that the settings match the Certificate before use.
• The manufacturer states that the warranty ends immediately if non OEM parts are fitted.
