Trailer Twistlock, Short Handle

The Twist Lock Trailer Short Handle is a twist lock fitted to container trailer chassis to secure the container firmly to the chassis and stop it shifting or coming loose in transit. The handle is shorter than the long handle model, sticks out less from the chassis, does not get in the way while driving and is less likely to be damaged by impact.

The short handle suits chassis where staff climb up to lock and unlock on the vehicle, or chassis with a side walkway. If locks need to be checked and released from the ground, the long handle model is a better fit.

The locking head fits ISO 1161 corner fittings, the standard that sets the size and strength of the Corner Casting on the container, while the device itself follows ISO 3874 for container securing devices and their positions on vehicles. It fits all ISO container sizes, 20 ft, 40 ft, 40 ft High Cube and 45 ft. It works by turning the handle 90 degrees, and the lock status can be checked from the handle position.
