Ratchet Lashing Strap with Double J Hook

Category

The Ratchet Tie Down Strap with J Hooks is a standard cargo securing device for road transport, made up of a 100% polyester strap, a ratchet tensioner and Double J hooks at both ends. It references EN 12195-2 and has been tested and awarded the GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit) by TÜV, a German safety certification, with an S/N field on the label so each strap can be traced.

This model has a Breaking Strength of 5,000 kg, is 8 metres long, and has a Lashing Capacity of 2,500 daN straight pull and 5,000 daN loop, following EN 12195-2, which sets lashing capacity at half the breaking strength. This is not the cargo weight one strap can hold. The number of straps actually needed is calculated to EN 12195-1, based on cargo weight, friction, strap angle and braking forces.

Available in 2 versions: With Wear Sleeve and Without Wear Sleeve. The wear sleeve fits over the strap to protect it from abrasion where it passes over corners or steel edges. We recommend the wear sleeve version for securing machinery, structural steel and loads with sharp edges, because abrasion on sharp edges is the main reason straps fail before the end of their service life.

Applications:

Securing cargo on trucks and trailers, securing cargo inside containers, securing machinery and construction equipment, securing cars on transport vehicles

How to use: hook onto the vehicle anchor points on both sides, feed the strap end through the ratchet spindle, and ratchet the handle until the strap is as tight as needed. The ratchet locks in place automatically. To release, pull the release catch and open the handle fully.
