PEROLO MEGA SUPERVENTIX SRV 2.5″ BSP DN65, 3.75 bar / 0.21 bar Vacuum

The 3.75 Bar safety relief valve, MEGA SUPERVENTIX SRV 2.5″ BSP, is a Pressure and Vacuum Safety Relief Valve made by PEROLO in France. It is available as MX65F (standard) and MP65F (PED) to protect tanks from overpressure and excessive vacuum.

The valve has a 2½ inch (DN65) bore and connects to the tank with a 2½” BSP thread, with relief settings of:

• Pressure Setting: 3.75 Bar or 375 kPa
• Vacuum Setting: 0.21 Bar or 21 kPa

When tank pressure reaches 3.75 Bar, the valve opens automatically to release gas or vapour. In the other direction, when negative pressure reaches 0.21 Bar, the Vacuum Relief opens to let air into the tank and balance it, reducing the risk of the tank deforming or collapsing.

MEGA SUPERVENTIX is compact but delivers high flow performance, suited to ISO Tank Containers, Road Tankers, Rail Tanks, IBCs and static pressure tanks.

Overpressure relief

The internal spring set holds the Pressure Plate closed. When tank pressure reaches the 3.75 Bar Set Pressure, it overcomes the spring force and the valve plate lifts to open the relief path. The spring then pushes the plate closed again when pressure balances.

If pressure rises quickly, the Pressure Plate travels further to open a larger relief area, so the valve can release pressure fast.

Vacuum protection

When tank pressure drops to 0.21 Bar, the Vacuum Poppet opens to let air into the tank, balancing the pressure inside and outside and reducing the risk of the tank deforming under vacuum.

Note on material: Some sources list the product as 316L, but the Specification document states the valve body material as 316 / 1.4408, so check the Material Certificate and the markings on the actual valve lot before stating 316L.

Under the PEROLO Codification system, this model is made up of MX65 or MP65, Connection type F (2½” BSP), Pressure Setting 3.75 Bar and Vacuum Setting 0.21 Bar.

MEGA SUPERVENTIX is designed to comply with ADR, IMDG, RID and ISO 4126-1 §7.3, with Design Approval from DNV and RMR.

Model MP65F is certified to PED 2014/68/EU (Category IV, Module H1, Fluid Group 1, Notified Body: DNV) and covers Set Pressures up to 4.4 Bar, so the 3.75 Bar setting is within the PED model range. Confirm that the actual product is an MP65F with a Certificate matching the Serial Number.

Suited to ISO Tank Containers, Road Tankers, Rail Tank Cars, IBCs and Static Pressure Tanks, including tanks carrying liquid chemicals and liquid food products specified for a Set Pressure of 3.75 Bar and Vacuum 0.21 Bar.

Before use, check that the Set Pressure matches the tank MAWP and that the valve body, O-ring and Gasket materials are safe to use with the product carried.

1. Check that the Pressure and Vacuum Settings on the Nameplate suit the tank MAWP.
2. Check Material Compatibility with the product carried.
3. Install where gas or liquid from the valve will not spray towards operators.
4. Remove the temporary Protective Cap and Gauze before assembly.
5. Clean the thread, flange and Setting Gasket.
6. Screw the valve in by hand with the gasket, then tighten with a C-Spanner to the Torque for the gasket material.
7. Check the Wire Weld Seal and test for leaks after fitting.

The Maintenance Sheet lists the Spring Set for Pressure 3.75 Bar and Vacuum 0.21 Bar as a model specific part, so matching parts can be ordered right away.

The manufacturer recommends removing the valve for inspection in a Workshop about every 2 years, by technicians with a Test Rig for Safety Relief Valves only.

After replacing the Spring Set or Seals, test the opening point at 3.75 Bar and Vacuum opening at 0.21 Bar with an accurate Manometer, then seal the Cap with Stainless Steel Wire. Only PEROLO Spring Sets should be used.

• Make sure the tank is not under pressure before removing the valve.
• Do not remove the Cover while the Spring Set is still loaded. The Spring Load is between 100 and 400 daN and can fly out violently.
• Do not adjust the Pressure Setting without a Test Rig, and do not remove the Wire Weld Seal before the inspection interval.
• Do not block the relief outlet, and check that the Flame Proof Gauze is not clogged.
• Check that the Pressure and Vacuum Settings match the Certificate and the Tank MAWP.
• Check Chemical Compatibility before use.
• The manufacturer states that the warranty ends immediately if non OEM parts are fitted.
