Container Door Locking Cam LH / RH (LG87004 / LG87003)

Container locking cam (Locking Cam) is a steel part welded to the top and bottom ends of the locking bar. When the handle is turned, the cam turns with the bar and engages the cam keeper (Cam Keeper) on the door header and door sill, pulling the door tight against the door gasket and locking it firmly. Available as left (L), code LG87004, and right (R), code LG87003.

The left and right cams are mirror images, shaped for the turning direction of the locking bar, and cannot be swapped. Each part has a raised L or R on the cam. Check the old cam on the container and order the same side.

• Check for the L or R mark on the old cam before cutting it off.
• Set the cam angle to match the cam keeper before welding, then turn the handle to make sure it locks at both top and bottom.
• If the cam keeper is also worn, replace it at the same time so the door closes tightly.

• The door does not close tightly and there is a gap at the door gasket
• The cam is worn round or cracked and no longer holds in the cam keeper
• The weld to the locking bar is cracked or the cam spins freely

Tell us the side (left L or right R) and the quantity you need. If you are not sure, send a photo of the old cam to our sales team to check.

Can the locking cam be used on Reefer containers?

This cam is the standard type for Dry containers. For Reefer containers, please ask our sales team before ordering.
