RT-Chain G70 Transport Chain Combo, 13 mm x 8 m, with Grab Hook

A ready made G70 chain set (Grade 70 Transport Chain), 8 metres long, 13 mm chain, with Clevis Grab Hooks at both ends, designed for securing heavy loads on trucks, trailers and in industrial transport.

The grab hooks can hook back into any chain link, so the length can be adjusted on site without cutting the chain. The Clevis Pin with safety pin lets you replace the hook when needed. The chain has a Yellow Zinc finish for corrosion protection to the Grade 70 chain standard.

This G70 chain set is suited to securing heavy machinery and construction equipment, excavators, loaders, road rollers, cars or machinery on trailers, structural steel, steel pipes, steel coils, moulds and industrial loads on flatbeds where sliding and lifting must be controlled in transport.

Grade 70 chain and grab hooks are designed for Cargo Control and Tie Down only, not for overhead lifting.

Lay, loop or place the chain around the load to be secured, then hook the grab hook into a suitable chain link.

Tension the chain with a binder rated for 13 mm chain. There are two types to choose from:

• Lever chain binder (Lever Loadbinder): Tensions the chain by snapping the lever down. Fast, suited to frequent use.
• Ratchet chain binder (Ratchet Loadbinder): Tensions the chain by turning or ratcheting step by step, for finer tension control and safer release.

After fitting, check that the grab hooks are fully engaged in the chain links, the Clevis Pins and safety pins are in place, the links are not twisted, folded or knotted, the chain and hooks are loaded in the right direction, the binder is locked, the vehicle anchor points are suitably rated, and the chain does not touch sharp edges without protection.

Check the system tension again after the vehicle sets off, especially after braking, rough roads or heavy vibration.

Per the manufacturer's reference data, 13 mm (1/2 inch) Grade 70 chain has a Working Load Limit of about 11,300 pounds or 5,127 kg (about 5.13 tons) and 1/2 inch Grade 70 grab hooks have the same reference WLL.

Always follow the markings on the chain, hooks, Tag and Certificate for the lot supplied. The rating of the complete set is limited by the component with the lowest WLL in the system.

The RT-Chain Combo is a fixed length 8 metre chain set with grab hooks at both ends, suited to customers who want a set ready to use straight away without cutting chain or fitting hooks.

MTR Chain is G70 chain cut to length and sold by the metre, suited to customers who want to set their own length or make up sets for specific jobs. Both come in 10 mm and 13 mm chain sizes.

• Do not exceed the Working Load Limit, and do not lift or suspend loads over people.
• Do not use chain that is cracked, bent, stretched or abnormally worn, and do not use it if the Clevis Pin or safety pin is missing.
• Do not knot, twist or weld repair the chain yourself
• Avoid shock loading, which can push forces in the system above the WLL
• Do not load the hook tip or the side of the grab hook.
• Choose chain binders and anchor points with suitable ratings, and use protection where the chain touches sharp edges.
• Check the chain, grab hooks, Clevis Pins and chain binder before every use.

NACM requirements call for chain and hooks in sound condition, used within the Working Load Limit, avoiding shock loads that exceed the rating
