PEROLO CHIM Footvalve DN80 316L for IBC, 3 in, 90° Outlet

CHIM is fitted at the lowest point of the tank, with the Poppet and Spring on the inside of the tank, acting as the first closure to stop product flowing out unintentionally. Because the spring sits inside the tank, the valve stays spring closed from the inside even if external equipment is damaged.

To discharge, the operator uses the Lever or Pneumatic system to move the Spindle and Pushrod, lifting the Poppet off its seal. Product flows from the tank through the valve and out of the side flange. When the mechanism is released, the Spring pushes the Poppet back to the closed position automatically.

CHIM and NEATCO are Foot Valves from the same family but designed for different jobs. Choosing the wrong model means the flanges will not match and the certification will not apply.

The CHIM Footvalve is designed to comply with ADR, IMDG, RID and EN 14433 and is approved by Bureau Veritas.

Suited to IBCs, Static Tanks, liquid chemical storage tanks, liquid food ingredient tanks, mixing and Process tanks, bottom discharge systems and systems that need Lever or Pneumatic Actuation control.

Important note: the manufacturer specifies IBCs and Static Tanks as the main application. This valve is not a standard ISO Tank Container model. To use it on other systems, first check the tank design, flange pattern and certification requirements of that system, and always check Chemical Compatibility between the valve materials, seals and product.

1. Check that the tank Inlet Flange and gasket are clean and free of dust, sand or dirt.
2. Fit the Studs to the tank flange and check the Stud positions are correct.
3. Place the PTFE gasket in line with the flange.
4. Fit the CHIM Footvalve in position and fit washers and nuts at every point.
5. Tighten the Studs and Nuts following the Bolt Tightening Sequence to a maximum torque of 50 N·m ±5.
6. Check the flange alignment and gasket seating.
7. Test opening and closing and check for leaks before use.

PEROLO recommends replacing the Spindle seals as a complete set to keep the valve stem tight. The 2 Stuffing Clamp screws are tightened to 8 N·m. After repair, test Lever movement, Spring return, Poppet closure, leaks at the Spindle and flange, Pneumatic system operation if fitted, and a Pressure Test as per the procedure.

Do not exceed the 4 Bar Working Pressure or the seal temperature range. Do not open the system while the tank is under abnormal pressure. Check the flange, gasket, Poppet and Spindle before every use. Do not use a valve that is cracked, bent or leaking. Do not modify the Lever, Pushrod or Spring. Tighten to the specified Torque and use only PEROLO OEM parts. The warranty ends immediately if non OEM parts are fitted.
