PEROLO NEATCO MKII VNT3 DN80 Bottom Discharge Valve, 3 in, 45°

The VNT3 set uses a double closure valve principle as required by safety rules for dangerous goods transport tanks.

Closure 1: NEATCO MKII Foot Valve Fitted at the lowest point of the tank, with a Poppet and spring on the tank side, operated by a Side Operated Handle. It keeps the product in the tank until opened, and because the spring sits inside the tank, this closure stays tightly shut even if external equipment is damaged in an accident.

Closure 2: TANKFLY Butterfly Valve is a Second Closure Valve adding another layer of safety before the outlet. The standard model uses a Clamped Butterfly Valve ND80 with Splined Spindle and can be swapped for a Flanged Butterfly Valve ND80 or an ATCO Full Bore Ball Valve 3″ PN16.

Outlet: Outlet Nozzle and Cap Standard is a 3″ BSP male thread with cap, with options for Camlock or Blind Flange.

Flow sequence: Tank → NEATCO Foot Valve → TANKFLY Butterfly Valve → Outlet Nozzle

After discharge, operators must fully close both closures before disconnecting the hose and capping the Outlet, every time.

The actual temperature range varies with the O-ring material and the product carried.

The standard code is VNT3 4 115 A 1 . . . N B R. Each position defines the spec of the set, so the exact model can be specified in full.

The standard model sold is 45° with Stainless Seat, Clamped Butterfly and BSP outlet. If you need a 30° angle, a Hastelloy Seat for highly corrosive products, Steam Heating or a Camlock outlet, give us the code from the table for a price and lead time.

Suited to ISO Tank Containers, Road Tankers, Tank Trailers and tanks carrying liquid chemicals, oil, industrial liquids and liquid food products, as well as replacing end of life ISO Tank bottom valve sets.

Before choosing, check compatibility between the Stainless Steel, PTFE, O-rings and the product carried, as the manufacturer makes the user responsible for checking Material Compatibility.

1. Check and clean the tank Inlet Flange and gasket so they are free of dust, sand or dirt.
2. Fit the Studs into the Weld-in Flange and lubricate with PTFE grease.
3. Place the gasket in the correct position.
4. Fit the NEATCO Foot Valve to the flange with Washers and Nuts at every position.
5. Tighten the nuts in the sequence set by the manufacturer: M12 Studs to 50 N·m ±10 and the Second Closure Valve M16 to 70 N·m ±5.
6. Fit the Second Closure Valve, Outlet Nozzle and related equipment.
7. Open and close the valve at least 3 times to check the Operational Torque.

The 45° model uses Foot Valve Part Number NT34115A1 with an 8 x Ø14 Inlet Flange on PCD178 and a 4 x Ø18 Outlet Flange on PCD160.

The Spindle and Poppet are Stainless Steel, while the Packing Gland, Packing Ring and Bush use PTFE or glass filled PTFE depending on position. Caps and outlets are the most frequently replaced wear parts of a Bottom Discharge system. Popular items for the 3 inch set:

Use only PEROLO OEM parts. The warranty ends immediately if non OEM parts are fitted.

Do not exceed the 4 Bar Working Pressure. Check the Foot Valve and Second Closure Valve for leaks before every loading. Do not open the Outlet cap while the system is under pressure. Fully close every closure before disconnecting the Discharge hose. Replace O-rings and PTFE Seals as soon as they show hardening, swelling, cracking or deformation, and after any repair, test opening and closing, leaks and pressure before returning to service.
