Over Centre Buckle Tarpaulin Strap

The Tarpaulin Locker with over centre buckle (Over Centre Buckle Strap) pulls and locks the side tarpaulin on curtain side trucks and trailers. It has a two piece polyester strap, a metal lever buckle and wire hooks at both ends.

When the lever is pressed fully down, the buckle shortens the strap and locks itself in place. Unlike a ratchet, it opens and closes faster and with one hand, so it suits side tarpaulins opened and closed many times a day. The strap length can be adjusted to the tension needed.

These devices have their own lashing capacity (Lashing Capacity), but it is much lower than a ratchet strap. Their main job is to pull the tarpaulin tight and stop light cargo from moving. They are not primary cargo securing devices, so cargo must be secured separately with EN 12195-2 ratchet straps.

Applications:

Curtain side bodies on trucks and trailers, replacing damaged tarpaulin straps, new body builds and routine truck fleet maintenance

How to use: hook the top hook onto the anchor point on the tarpaulin or top rail, hook the bottom hook onto the side rail of the body, adjust the strap length, then press the lever fully down to pull the tarpaulin tight and lock it.

Limitation: not a primary cargo securing device. For cargo securing, please see our EN 12195-2 ratchet straps.
