Description

Description

Container cam keeper (Cam Keeper), also called door keeper, is a steel part welded to the door frame at the header and the sill. Unlike the cam, which turns with the locking bar, the keeper stays fixed. When the handle is turned to close the door, the cam turns into the keeper and pulls the door tight against the frame. Available as left hand (L) code LG87002 and right hand (R) code LG87001

If the keeper is worn, bent or fitted out of line, the cam cannot engage fully, the door is hard to close or the locking gear has play. Always check the keeper and cam together.

Right (R) LG87001 LG87003

Each part has a raised L or R mark. L and R describe the part pattern, not always the left or right door. Check the old part on the container and order the same pattern.

Key points for M&R work

  • Check keeper and cam together If either part is worn or deformed, replacing only one may still leave poor engagement
  • Check the supporting structure Inspect welds and the door frame at the fitting point before setting the new part
  • Test after repair The cam must engage and release normally and the handle must seat in its holder without forcing

When to replace the cam keeper

  • Keeper cracked or bent
  • Keeper face worn so the lock is no longer tight
  • Corrosion has weakened the part

If only the weld has cracked, inspect the part and the supporting structure before deciding to replace, following repair criteria and the container owner's requirements

Parts often replaced at the same time

Frequently asked questions

Does L.H. mean it only fits the left door?

Not always. L and R describe the part pattern. Compare with the cam and the original fitting position, not only the side of the door.

Can a left hand keeper replace a right hand one?

No. The shape and engagement direction are different. Choose the one that matches the cam and the original position.

Can a keeper with a similar base size replace another model?

Check the shape and cam engagement distance first. A similar base size does not mean the parts will work together.
