Flat container door handle (Door Handle Press Type) code LG87044 is a flat pressed handle with an offset as per design and a pivot hole for fitting to the handle hub. Used in container door locking gear maintenance (Container Door M&R)

How the door handle works

The handle is a lever. It turns the locking bar through the handle hub so the cam engages or releases the keeper. Once the door is closed, the handle must seat in its holder and accept a seal as designed

Key points for M&R work

Check the handle hole, rivet and handle hub together. If the hole or rivet is worn, replacing only the handle may still leave play
If the lock is stiff or the door is hard to close, check door alignment and cam engagement first. Do not force the handle to make up for misaligned locking gear
After fitting, turn the lock, seat the handle in its holder and fit a seal. Nothing should jam or rub against nearby parts

Handle bent, twisted or deformed so it cannot turn the lock or seat in its holder
Cracks on the handle or at the pivot hole
