Description

Container door gasket is made of weather resistant EPDM rubber and fitted around the edge of each door leaf. When the door closes, the rubber presses against the door frame to keep out water, dust and light. Available as complete sets for a whole door and as 2.50 m lengths for repairing damaged sections only.

Mechanics often just call it the door rubber or container door rubber.

  • Check whether it is the left or right door, because the profiles differ
  • Inspect the gasket retainer on the door leaf and repair it first if it is bent or corroded
  • After fitting, do a light test inside the container. No light should show around the door

When to replace the door gasket

  • Rubber is hard, cracked, torn or missing in sections
  • Water leaks in, or light shows when the door is closed
  • Rubber is flattened and does not recover, so the door no longer seals
